Over 36 million adults in the United States struggle with low-literacy. The ability to read is something that we too often take for granted. Join OLC’s challenge, and walk to support the literacy needs of our community.
September is National Literacy month! In honor of this, Ozarks Literacy Council is challenging community members to walk 300,000 steps in 30 days. These steps represent the over 300,000 Missouri residents who struggle with low-literacy and fulfill the American Heart Association’s daily step recommendation!
Participants who sign up for the event, track their steps through OLC’s Stridekick site, and complete the 300,000 steps will be entered into a prize drawing! Join OLC’s A Step Toward Literacy, presented by CoxHealth, today!
Participation only costs $10.00! When you sign up, you will be given access to sync your device (Phone, Fitbit, etc..).
Even more exciting, join OLC to kick-off the event on September 1st from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parties at the Park
